MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE PROTEIN CHIA PUDDING (whole30) From: Michelle @ www.thewholesmiths.com/2017/11/21/mexican-hot-chocolate-protein-chia-pudding/ Welcome to your new favorite chia pudding recipe. Is that a bold statement to make? Yeah? Well I stand by it. This is hands down my new go-to chia pudding recipe and I am certain you’re going to love it. Ch-ch-ch-chia! Why doesn’t everyone make chia pet jokes when we’re talking about chia pudding? It’s so catchy. I sing it every time I make it. Maybe it’s because I’m the only one in the room old enough to remember those commercials? I’m going to choose not to believe that. Prep time: 7 min Cool time: 6 hours Total time: 6 hrs, 7 min Yield: 2INGREDIENTS 2 1/4 cups almond milk 1 scoop Rootz Protein-Superfood (1/4 cup protein powder) * 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder 2 teaspoons maple syrup ½ teaspoon cinnamon ⅛ teaspoon cayenne ⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract 6 tablespoons chia seeds
INSTRUCTIONS Add the almond milk, protein and cocoa powder, maple syrup, cinnamon, cayenne and vanilla extract to a blender and blend on high for 10 seconds until all ingredients are incorporated. Pour the mixture into a large bowl and add the chia seeds. Stir the chia seeds into the liquid for about one minute and let it rest for 3-4 minutes. Stir the chia pudding for an additional minute and pour into containers. Let the chia pudding chill and set in the refrigerator for 6 hours prior to serving.
