Mix-It-Up Christmas Candy Bark
From: Brandie @ www.thecountrycook.net/mix-it-up-christmas-candy-bark/
I really love recipes like this next one. It’s another favorite no-bake recipe for the holidays. But let’s be honest, it really is appropriate for any time of year! The beauty of this recipe is that there really are no hard and fast rules. You can play with the recipe and add in whatever you really enjoy. It’s that sweet and salty combination of flavors that always works best.
Prep time: 25 min
Total time: 25min
Serves: 12
Ingredients
1 16 oz package vanilla candy coating like Candiquik
1 16 oz package milk chocolate candy coating like Candiquik
1 cup roughly chopped Mint OREO cookies
1 cup roughly chopped pretzels
1 cup M&M's
⅓ cup crushed candy canes or peppermints; optional
½ cup Goldfish crackers
festive sprinkles of choice
parchment paper
Instructions
Lay out a large sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet.
In a large bowl, mix together Oreo cookies, pretzels, M&M's, peppermints, and Goldfish.
Melt the milk chocolate first by placing in a microwave-safe bowl and microwaving on high for 1 minute.
*If your chocolate gets too hot and starts to harden, add 1 tsp of butter at a time until smoothed out*
Pour melted milk chocolate onto the parchment paper, and spread out into a large semi-thin rectangle.
Let it firm up for a few minutes before moving on.
Melt the white (vanilla) chocolate the same way, and pour into the large bowl with all of the crushed snacks.
Mix everything together quickly so that it is evenly coated, and then drop by the spoonful onto the milk chocolate layer.
Spread gently, so as not to disturb the bottom layer.
Add sprinkles, and let cool 1 hour (or refrigerate for 10 minutes).
Break apart before serving.
