From: Blair @ www.theseasonedmom.com/amish-hamburger-casserole/
This Quick and Easy Amish Hamburger Casserole is a simple, wholesome and comforting one-dish meal that’s perfect for busy nights. It’s a dinner that I grew up with, and now I’m happy to be sharing it with my own family. The kids have deemed this ground beef recipe “one of the best casseroles that I’ve ever made!”
Prep: 20 mins
Cook: 25 mins
Total: 45 mins
Yield: 6-8 servings
Ingredients
8 ounces uncooked egg noodles (about 5 cups uncooked)
8 ounces softened cream cheese
8 ounces (1 cup) Organic Cottage Cheese
½ cup Horizon Organic Sour Cream
3 tablespoons Organic Butter, melted
1 ½ lbs. lean ground beef
1/3 cup chopped onion
½ green bell pepper, diced
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
¾ cup condensed tomato soup (not diluted)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup Organic Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Spray a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray and set aside.
Cook noodles according to package instructions.
Drain and set aside.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, stir together softened cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, and melted butter.
Set aside.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until no longer pink.
Drain excess fat. Return beef to the skillet and add onion, bell pepper, diced tomatoes, tomato soup, and Worcestershire sauce.
Stir to combine.
Place ½ of the cooked pasta in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Top with ½ of the cream cheese mixture and ½ of the meat mixture.
Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake, uncovered, for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through.
