A SIMPLE MIXTURE OF MILK, EGGS, SUGAR, BUTTER, VANILLA, AND FLOUR IS MAGICALLY TRANSFORMED INTO THE MULTI-LAYER TREAT!Prep time:10 mins Cook time:50 mins Total time:1 hour Makes: 9 servings INGREDIENTS 4 eggs, separated 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly pinch of kosher salt 2 cups warm milk (I used 2%)1 TBS pure vanilla extract1 cup all-purpose flourPowdered sugar, for dustingINSTRUCTIONSHeat oven to 325 degrees F. Line 8" x 8" pan with parchment or foil, or coat liberally with cooking spray.In a large bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Set aside.In another large bowl, beat the egg yolks, granulated sugar, butter, and a pinch of salt until mixture is well combined and it turns pale yellow.Slowly beat the milk into the egg yolk mixture.Add in the vanilla extract and flour.Fold in the egg whites a little at a time. Do not over mix! Pour into prepared baking pan and bake for 40 -50 minutes, or until set. The middle should be a little jiggly when you take it out. Cool completely before cutting. Sprinkle liberally with powdered sugar before serving.
