Cinnamon Braised Beef
From: Vanessa Romero @ healthylivinghowto.com/
Before you guys get all up in arms about mixing cinnamon and beef... hear me out for a sec... Did you know, that in a traditional curry powder, cinnamon is the spice that brings the warm heat to the blend? I've been cooking for a really long time, and when I started to make my own curries, and other "ethnic" types of dishes, I was shocked at how different Cinnamon tastes when it is not blended ...with some form of a sweetener. It never even dawned on me! Don't believe me? Taste it! Go ahead! I double dog dare ya, LOL Just a teeny bit on a finger tip will be enough to know, that I'm not pulling your leg. Feeling more adventurous after tasting plain Cinnamon? Then make a batch of this LowCarb Cinnamon Braised Beef! The warm hearty flavor is absolutely perfect for a great dinner on a cool Autumn evening!
This is one of my all-time favorite dishes. It is incredibly simple, but the flavors are unbelievable. In my country, cinnamon is essentially the national spice and is in many savory dishes that we regularly eat.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 60 minutes
Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients
1 lb. Beef Stew Meat
1 Tbsp. Butter or Ghee
1 Onion, Diced
Sea Salt and Black Pepper (to taste)
