Tacos in a Bag
You will need a small bag of chips per person. This is fun for kids and adults. We do this all the time in our RV park.
Ingredients:
1 small bag of Fritos or favorite flavor of Doritos per person
2 cups prepared chili
1 pound hamburger
Taco seasoning to taste
shredded cheddar cheese + cheese to garnish
cup sour cream (optional for kids)
shredded lettuce as needed
diced tomatoes
(Plastic spoons or forks)
Instructions:
Brown hamburger in skillet adding taco seasoning.
Drain and put in a bowl.
Warm chili in sauce pan.
Cut or shread lettuce.
Shread cheese.
Dice tomatoes.
Put all ingredients except chip bag in small bowls.
Assembly
Have guests pick out a chip bag.
Then have them gently crumble the chips IN the bag...do not let them pop the bag.
Once crumbled, cut off one top corner of the bag of chips, about 3 inches.
(Just enough to get other ingredients in bag and also so they can eat it. You could crumble the bags ahead of time for the children)
Let them layer remaining ingredients over chips in the bags.
The bags are small so they shouldn't add too much.
Have them choose a spoon or fork to eat with.
This makes its own container and kids can carry it and eat out of the bag. We usually have them go outside and sit on the deck or porch and eat it. Serve with a juice box for kids, or a beer for adults.
NOTES : This is a great treat for kids' parties. Kids love it and there is little mess for you to clean up. Just have a garbage can near by for them to throw away the bags when finished.
