Make joy the cause Don’t wait for joy to be a result of what you do. Make joy the cause of what you do.
Striving for good things will not make you happy. Let go of the striving, be happy, live that happiness, and the good things will come.
Be determined and ambitious, but not out of a desperate sense of need. Do it out of a love for the possibilities.
Don’t think of yourself as merely trying. See that everything you do is moving you forward.
Your perspective makes all the difference, so choose a positive, forward-looking one. Be a living affirmation of the beauty and value of your life.
Make real, authentic joy your cause. And make your results truly spectacular. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130205.html#ixzz2K48B6QsE

Get out ahead of life If you feel burdened by having too much to do, choose to do even more. Make it your choice, your genuine intention, and it will no longer be your burden. When life asks much of you, get out ahead of life and give even more. Put yourself in control by putting yourself into action.
Don’t complain about how bad you have it. Let your actions express how very good you can be.
Commit to an authentic, meaningful purpose and then follow that purpose with joyful persistence. Know specifically where you’re going and you won’t be easily misled.
Take action and you won’t have to live with doubt. Make a difference and you won’t be forced to make excuses.
Opportunity is everywhere, especially when it doesn’t seem to be. Live like you mean it by putting your highest hopes, visions and values into action. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130206.html#ixzz2K8uViwY1

Get up and do There are a thousand ways you can talk yourself out of taking action. Yet there is just one way to truly move forward, and that is to go ahead and take action. It’s great to be smart, informed, and thoughtful. It’s not that great to think things through so much and to second-guess yourself so much that you never get anything done. You can find plenty of ways to justify your procrastination. Yet even if it’s perfectly reasonable and understandable, it’s still procrastination. The secret to moving forward is not found in some clever technique. The secret to moving forward is to get up and go, get up and do, get up and create value. Be smart, but don’t be so focused on being smart that you fail to put your wisdom and intelligence to good, productive use. Be smart, and then act smart, and follow through on your brilliant thinking. Instead of just thinking about it and eventually letting the thought die, get up and do it. Put your thoughts into action and transform them into solid, lasting value. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130207.html#ixzz2KFDu3zFX

Give hope Every situation starts out as hopeless. When there is hope, it is provided by you.
Hope is not based on the way things are. Hope arises from your choice to feel it.
You can give hope to this day. And then you can justify that hope by the way you live.
Hope is not only for the young and strong and advantaged. Hope is for all who love life and its endless possibilities.
Now, no matter what, you can give hope, and you can live that hope. Now, no matter what, you have as much reason and ability to feel true joy as anyone has ever had.
So feel that joy, live with real hope, love and treasure all the goodness. Give hope, live up to your hope, and let your hope prove itself to be very well founded. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130208.html#ixzz2KT4muaxf

A life of excellence Excellence is not attained with a one-time, quick and isolated tactic. A life of excellence is a life in which there is, every day, a renewed commitment to excellence. A life of excellence is a life of caring, about your own concerns to be sure, but also about matters that go far beyond yourself. A life of excellence comes from a continuously renewed focus on the big picture. The actions that build excellence naturally flow from an attitude that sincerely values excellence. Life is yours to live as you choose, and in every moment, on every day, you can choose to live it with excellence. With a commitment to excellence, you can find the goodness and value in any situation. With a commitment to excellence, you can absolutely make life even better than it already is. You are enormously blessed with the priceless gift of life. Take every opportunity to live it at the highest, most loving, compassionate, productive and excellent level. Commit to a life of excellence now, and always. Anything less is not worthy of the magnificent, unique person you know you are. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130209.html#ixzz2KT55aLkf

All the magic Do you want some magic in your life? The fact is, you already have it. You can perceive, you can think, you can plan, you can intend, you can take action and you can make a difference. What could possibly be more magical than that? The real magic is life itself. And right here, right now, on this very day, in this situation, you have all the magic that is your unique life.
You already have plenty of magnificent magic. The thing to do now is to make meaningful and valuable and life-enriching use out of it. Consider for a moment, with the utmost gratitude, all the possibilities that stretch out in front of you as far as you can see. Then stop considering and start living the best of those possibilities. Now is your opportunity, so take it and run with it. And live the magic that is your life. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130211.html#ixzz2KcdQYFCY

Allowing Wonderful, amazing things happen when you stop trying and start allowing. Instead of fighting the effort, unify yourself with it, and your effectiveness goes through the roof. Free yourself from the intense need to do something, and you unlock massive amounts of energy to actually get it done. Tap into the powerful momentum that’s already there by allowing yourself to continue creating meaningful value. Achievement is a process of allowing what exists in your imagination to be expressed in concrete form. Fulfillment is a process of allowing what you treasure in your heart to expand so that it fills your world. If you practice worry, deception, envy, fear or resentment, you block the power of your own beautiful purpose. Make the choice to let those things go, and allow your life to express your highest values and most treasured dreams. Instead of forcing yourself to do what you don’t want to do, enthusiastically allow yourself to do what you know you can do. Allow yourself to engage in and enjoy the delightful daily work of true fulfillment. Move gently out of the way of your own creative spirit. And allow yourself to continually do great and wonderful things. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130212.html#ixzz2KpEpcvtd

Against all odds, you’ve succeeded before. And there is no doubt whatsoever that you can do so again. Breathe in the fresh, energizing air of possibility in this new moment. Your life matters Your life matters, not only to you but to the whole world. You owe it to all of life to make your own experience the best it can be.
Your time matters. Every moment is an opportunity to add real richness and value.
Your outlook matters. By being focused on what’s positive, you make all of life more positive and fulfilling.
Your actions matter. What you do, changes things, and you have the very real ability to make the world better and better.
Your purpose matters. Do what you know is right, and right for you, not just what’s easy or convenient.

Getting somewhere The way to avoid mistakes is to avoid doing anything. But that ends up being the biggest mistake of all. Instead of living in fear of making a mistake, live in awe of the magnificent possibilities. Grab the opportunities, run with them, and any mistakes you make along the way will be quickly forgotten in the brilliant light of your achievements. Don’t specifically seek to make mistakes, or to appear foolish, or to offend innocent people. But don’t cower in fear of those things either. If you should happen to look silly, or to make a few missteps on the way to fulfilling your highest vision, so what? What’s important is not keeping up appearances, but rather staying focused on bringing real value to life. Do your best to get it right, and don’t be stopped by the fear of getting it wrong. Give your full attention and commitment to the task, and you’ll quickly learn how to consistently move forward. If you should happen to stumble along the way, see it as a confirmation that you’re getting somewhere. Keep going, keep learning, keep experiencing the ups and downs, and you’ll keep adding real value to all of life. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130215.html#ixzz2LJ0Xe6Rp

Think the best Doubt is a thought you can let go of. Confidence is a thought you can choose to hold and to expand upon. If you think something is too difficult or out of reach, your thoughts do indeed put it out of reach. Alternately, when you think you’re capable and deserving, you’ll find a way to make it happen. Your thoughts most certainly do control you. Yet, before your thoughts control you, you have the opportunity to select and control them. Your perspective is built upon the thoughts you most consistently choose. The most powerful perspective comes from the most positive thoughts. Just because life is full of problems does not mean you must choose to be full of negative thoughts. Focus your thoughts not on where you and others have stumbled, but on the most positive, desirable way forward. You always have a choice of what to think, so choose consistently to think the best of life. That puts you well on the way to making it happen. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130216.html#ixzz2LJ0xmb6J

Earn it You don’t have to do it all at once, and in fact you wouldn’t want to. Do a little, keep going, and you can do a whole lot. You don’t have to be intimidated by the size or complexity of the undertaking. Just get started doing what you can, make the commitment to work your way through, and you’ll find yourself making real progress. It’s great to be prepared, yet you don’t want to spend so much time getting ready that you never get it done. Do some reasonable preparation, and then get busy doing some real, productive work. The distractions, interruptions, mistakes and setbacks will come, yet there’s no need to let them stop you. Acknowledge what has happened, and immediately remind yourself to get right back on track. You have a deep-seated longing to make a difference, so make the efforts that satisfy that longing. You are meant to do great and wonderful things, so put your time and awareness into fulfilling that beautiful destiny. Life is overflowing with goodness, and yet the best of that goodness won’t simply be handed to you. Let go of need Don’t let what you need get in the way of enjoying and expanding upon all the goodness you have. Each need is a burden, and most of them can be let go. Chasing what you think you need takes precious time and resources away from living the beauty that is already yours. Imagine being free to truly be you. Yes, you have obligations to your health, your family, your community and your world, and fulfilling those obligations is an essential part of your life. Yet apart from those true obligations are many needs and attachments that only serve to hold you back. It’s not the acquiring or possessing or experiencing that brings you down and holds you back. It’s the need to acquire, to possess, or to experience that becomes so burdensome to you. Make the intentional choice to live your purpose instead of living with the constant need for this or that. It’s a change in perspective that can free you to experience life at higher and higher levels. Let go of the need to do or to have, and simply enjoy the doing and the having. Go beyond your needs, and let life’s great abundance be your abundance too. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130219.html#ixzz2LTetxcHv

When you don’t know you can’t To achieve great and valuable things, you don’t even have to know that you can. You just have to avoid knowing that you cannot. If you’re sure you can’t, you won’t. When you focus on all the reasons why it won’t work, it won’t work. Instead, just get busy. Work your way through each challenge, one by one. Don’t place judgments on your abilities before you even make the effort. Put your considerable skills to use and achieve what you choose to achieve. The only things impossible for you are the things you consider to be impossible. Focus your time, energy and awareness on what you can do, and let go of thoughts about what you cannot do. Begin the joy Although your goal may be distant, the pathway to it is not. The path is right here, right now. Even the most ambitious achievements are built one step at a time. The next step is always ready for you to take. Don’t be frustrated about how long it will take. Get excited and enthusiastic about how much you can do right now. Living your dream begins long before the dream is fully achieved. Living your dream begins the moment you take the very first step toward it. The satisfaction of reaching the goal is built in the efforts you make to reach it. From the moment you begin, you can start to feel that satisfaction. Give good things When you can give even just a little more than you ask for, there is no limit to how wealthy you can be. If you offer a dollar and five cents worth of value for the price of a dollar, you will always have plenty of customers.
There is no need to strive and compete. Because you are able to allow and create.
You are immersed in a sea of abundance. Your thoughts, your efforts and your passion create meaningful value out of the ever-present abundance.
The more honest and authentic you are about being who you are, the more easily real value will flow from what you do. The more thankful you are for what you have, the more value you’ll be able to give. If you seek to take advantage of others, you end up losing the great, unique advantage of being you. Seek instead to serve others and as you do, your own magnificent possibilities are fulfilled. Make it your intention to continually give good things to life. And life will be exceedingly good to you. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130225.html#ixzz2LwseowOh

Thoughts and feelings Respect and appreciate your feelings, but don’t allow them to completely dominate you. Let your feelings inform you, enhancing and expanding your experience of life, but don’t let them imprison you.
Your feelings are essential, and connect your awareness to the very core of who you are. Yet your thoughts, reasoning and discipline are important as well. Pay close attention when your feelings tell you to act or to avoid action. Just don’t let those feelings be the only deciding factor. Your feelings will tell you things that your logical mind cannot. And your logical mind gives you valuable knowledge and abilities that go beyond the realm of feelings. You are indeed fortunate to be able to think and to feel. Allow your thoughts and your feelings to challenge and to strengthen each other. Live your life with ever increasing levels of richness. The moment you imagine Imagine that problems are no longer a problem for you. Imagine that the frustrations no longer frustrate you. Imagine that you are no longer limited by the limitations. Imagine that the obstacles no longer are able to hold you back. Now consider this. Your life is the way it is not because of what comes your way, but because of how you respond to it all. If you can truly imagine that the problems are no problem, that is the way it will be. If you can sincerely imagine that the obstacles cannot hold you back, they won’t. Do you respond to the difficulties by making them even worse? Or do you choose to imagine yourself beyond them? The moment you imagine, it changes nothing except you. Every day is a blessing Some of life’s blessings are immediately obvious. There are many others that, although they don’t feel like blessings at the time, can eventually bring great value to your life. It may seem strange to be thankful when difficulties come your way. Yet those difficulties, and your response to them, can end up making you much stronger and bringing new richness to your life. It’s easy, and very beneficial, to be thankful when life is going great. And your gratitude can be even more powerful and appropriate when things are not going so well. Gratitude is not merely the result of having good and valuable experiences in your life. Gratitude is an essential part of causing life’s goodness and abundance to come your way. By being sincerely thankful, you align your life with all that is good and positive and meaningful. By being thankful, you create even more and even better things for which to be thankful. Every day is a blessing, whether it seems like it at the time or not. Be truly thankful, and benefit from the abundance that is always there. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130228.html#ixzz2MDvvTDKJ

Live the greatness Today is new, and you can be too. This day carries forward positive value from the past, and adds to it new possibilities for the present, and so can you. What came before is over, so stop wishing that the bad things had not happened or that the good things were still here. Now is your opportunity to create new goodness, right now, in new and better ways. Take all those good memories and values, and carry them forward in your heart. Resolve to honor the best of what has been by making the very best of what you have today. You’ve had some sadness and disappointment, and there will be more. Yet all sorts of new and meaningful joys await your choice to let them come to life. This is the day you have, this is the place you are, and in it is everything you need to make a positive difference. This is your opportunity to live with more richness than ever, and the more you give, the more of that richness and joy you will know. Treasure the best that you’ve been, and use this day to make it better. Put a real, authentic, confident smile on your face, a song of thankfulness in your heart, and live the greatness that is now. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130301.html#ixzz2MJz2FzwU

Let the negative thoughts go Don’t fight the negative thoughts. Just accept them, and then quickly let them go. If you push and struggle against your own negativity, you prolong it and make yourself even more negative. Instead, choose to quickly let it go and to direct your powerful energy toward positive purposes. You don’t have to feel guilty or regretful about being negative. Simply move on to something more meaningful and life affirming. Accept what has been, and suddenly you are no longer burdened by it. Be truly thankful that you have a choice, and make that choice to look forward rather than backward. Stop letting your own negativity get to you, and soon it will stop coming to you. When your negative thoughts cease to provoke a reaction, they lose their negativity. Let go of each negative thought the moment it arises. And suddenly, the moment is very positive and productive. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130302.html#ixzz2MRbj7ASs

Actually do it It’s great to know precisely what you want, and why you want it, and how to make it happen, but that’s not enough. You have to actually do it. It’s helpful to learn all the skills, techniques, clever tricks and strategies, yet just knowing all those things won’t make anything happen. You have to make it happen. You can read books, watch videos, go to seminars, hire a coach and do all sorts of other things to prepare yourself. Yet you also must put all that knowledge and preparation into action, day after day after day. Achievement happens only when you actually do it. And the only time you can actually do it is now. Complaining about how bad you’ve had it, or how unfair life is, doesn’t count. Waiting until conditions are perfect doesn’t count.

Live for It’s easy to figure out what you don’t like. Yet it is essential to also define and focus on what you do like and value. You won’t get very far by simply avoiding and opposing whatever you find undesirable. Progress and fulfillment come not by living against, but by living for. If there’s something that deeply troubles you, something you strongly dislike, you’re part of the way to discovering what you do like. Make the effort to replace that intense dislike with an even more intense positive desire. When you fight against anything, you run the risk of making it much stronger. Instead of fighting against something, spend your time and energy living for a more positive alternative. Don’t settle for a life lived in opposition. The way to make life less negative is to proactively make it more positive. Live for what you truly love, value and appreciate. Fill your life with what you do like, and there will be no room left for what you don’t like. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130305.html#ixzz2MhZn7HqC

Perfect choice A perfect decision is a decision that never gets made. Instead of seeking to make the perfect choice, make a choice based on your best information and instincts, and get on with it. Every choice involves some compromise. Every choice will have its positive aspects and its negative aspects. The best way forward is not to hold out for the absolute perfect choice, free of any downsides. The best way forward is to go ahead, make a choice, and deal with whatever problems come along. The choice itself doesn’t do the work for you. It is merely the starting point from which you begin to put in the effort and commitment. So whatever the choice may be, you have the ability to successfully work with it. Whatever problems may come along, you have the ability to transform into opportunities. Go ahead, make a good choice, and then get busy making it work. Though it may not be the perfect choice, it gives you the opportunity to make of it whatever you choose. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130306.html#ixzz2MmkNQ8iW

Make it your business You’re not stuck where you are unless you choose to be. On any day, at any moment, in any situation, you can change.
If you’re moving too fast, you can slow down. If you’re going too slow, you can speed things up.
No matter how many times you’ve made the same mistake, you can choose not to make it again. No matter how often you’ve sabotaged your own efforts, you can make the choice to go ahead and succeed in those efforts.
The outside factors may be quite significant and burdensome, yet they are not what keep you stuck. The thing that truly keeps you stuck is your refusal to make the necessary effort to move forward.
Yes, it can be difficult to make progress, and yet in that difficulty is much of the value of the progress you seek. Stop making excuses and start living that value.

Feel the peace The pain and confusion come more from the struggle than from the difficulty itself. Let go of the need to struggle, and deploy your energy in a positive manner to effectively and successfully deal with the situation. Go deep within, past the anxiety, past the thoughts, past the resistance, and feel the pure peace that lives at your center. If you cannot feel the peace, go deeper, and deeper, until you do. Feel the peace, and your worries dissolve into nothing. Feel the peace, and feel the energy and confidence to make good things happen.
Feel the peace, and allow your unique purpose to be expressed with no hesitation and no doubt. Feel the peace, and feel how right it feels to let beauty, love, goodness and value flow out from you. There is nothing to be gained by fighting against what is already a reality. Accept what is, and enable yourself to create new, positive value from it. Feel the peace, and feel the limitless possibilities that are connected to your life. Whatever the situation Difficult people can be valuable teachers. Difficult situations can build strong and highly useful skills. Challenges provide outstanding opportunities to be your best, and to get even better. Disappointments can help you more fully appreciate the good things you have. Look for the positive possibilities in whatever happens. Those positive possibilities are most certainly there. Instead of resenting where you are, or who you must deal with, or what you must do, find something positive. Find a way to grow, to learn, to appreciate, to become stronger and more highly skilled. Instead of wishing for an easy situation, see and make the most of the value in whatever the situation may be. Always remember that life’s fulfillment is not handed to you, but is created by you out of the reality that comes your way. Embrace that reality, in all its many flavors. Exceptional action To achieve exceptional results, take exceptional action. Get in the habit of quickly taking action, and you’ll get used to seeing your goals and dreams quickly taking shape. The way you make use of your time determines the way your life unfolds. When you hold your time in the highest regard, you’ll reach your highest level of performance and fulfillment. You have plenty of time to create plenty of success and achievement. Simply make full and effective use of each moment just as soon as it comes to you. Taking exceptional action does not require any special skill. It’s simply a matter of choosing to make enthusiastic and persistent use of the skills you have. You can choose to waste a good portion of each day on things that don’t really matter. Or, you can choose to fill your day with committed, effective action that’s focused on achieving your goals. The choice is always yours to make. Go ahead, choose to take exceptional action, and enjoy a truly exceptional life. — Ralph Marston Read more: greatday.com/motivate/130311.html#ixzz2NGR47xBl
