Spiked Apple Brownies Photo by witchywoman Recipe Submitted By: witchywoman Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 60 minutes Servings: 9 "This is an brownie recipe that is spiked with hazlenut liqueur!" You can switch up the liqueur and nuts, such as coffee liqueur and walnuts.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup sugar 1 cup packed dark brown sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon rum extract 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 3 Tablesppons hazelnut liqueur, such as frangelico 2 cups peeled and diced granny smith apples 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts, optional
Directions: 1. Sift together first 7 ingredients into a small bowl. Set aside. 2. Beat butter with the sugars, eggs, extracts and frangelico in a large bowl until fluffy. 3. Gradually stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture. Stir in apples and nuts, if using. Mixture will be really thick. Spread into a lightly greased 9 x 9 baking pan. 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, shielding with foil after 35 minutes to prevent excessive browning. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares. Printed from Allrecipes.com
