Served this on 4-7-15. In my opinion this was kind of bland. Now, I must say that I did not add mushrooms because of my food allergy, but that would not have helped much. Maybe it was because I used ingredients on hand...and did not follow the recipe exactly. I did not have cubed turkey, so I used ground turkey. I also used vegetable broth instead of chicken broth because I had one open in the fridge and needed to use it up. I do think that vegetable broth has more flavor than chicken anyway. Because I thought this was bland, I added in some onion powder, hot pepper flakes, some nutmeg* and lots of pepper. It helped. I also let it simmer for about a half hour so that the flavors could blend. It came out quite good. I will try this again and follow the recipe exactly. I'll let you know how it goes.
I give this recipe...
* I have found that adding a little nutmeg to recipes brings out the flavors. I watch a lot of cooking shows...imagine that...and a lot of professional chefs add nutmeg to bring out the flavors. Not too much, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon for the whole recipe. **Additional information: 4-9-15. I have had leftovers (just warmed in the microwave) for the last 2 days for lunch. I must say that this tasted better after sitting in the fridge over night. I really am liking this, with the changes I made to the recipe. Even the ground turkey is great. I will be making this again. And, I am adding an extra cupcake to the review. So, it will merit 4 cupcakes after it sits overnight. smilieyahooandyayyyyy_zps361e918f
