Grilled Salmon with Lemon-Chili Butter
From: Katie Bramlett @ thewarriorwife.com/blog/grilled-salmon/
In my opinion, salmon is best served with lots of butter and lemon. In order to switch things up, I decided to try making a lemon-chili butter sauce to accompany the fresh salmon I picked up from the market. It was a great hit with my family! It went perfectly with some grilled asparagus and was on the table in under 30 minutes. I highly recommend giving this a try!
Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Cook Time: 15-20 minutes
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients:
2 pounds fresh salmon, skin on
Sauce:
Salt, to taste
2 tablespoons avocado oil + plus 1 extra tablespoon for the grill
5 tablespoons butter melted
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons honey
1-2 lemon, juiced (4-6 tablespoons lemon juice)
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1-1½ teaspoons sambal oelek chili paste (or to taste, optional)
Directions:
Season the salmon with salt, to taste.
In a small sauce pot, whisk together all the sauce ingredients until smooth.
Pour ⅓ of the sauce in a small bowl to brush on the salmon once it’s on the grill and reserve the rest for serving.
Preheat a grill to medium-high heat.
Brush a piece of foil with avocado oil and place the fish on it skin side down.
Place on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the desired doneness is reached (it will depend on the thickness of the salmon).
Be sure to brush with the chili-butter on top as it cooks, then discard after it’s used.
Serve with any other desired sides with the reserved chili-butter sauce spooned over the top.
Feel great and remember to enjoy your health!
Quick tip: To prevent sticking to the grill, liberally oil a large piece of foil and poke a few small holes in the bottom. Place the filets on it, then grill.
*Although it is not specified in the recipe, I only use ingredients that are organic and/or GMO-free. I believe this is the healthiest way to eat and encourage everyone to do so as much as possible. It is a more expensive way to eat but it is worth every penny!
